Co-Hosted by Rickey Smiley and Essence Atkins the 2013 Trumpet Awards Ceremony will be a star studded evening. Performances by Avant, Raheem DeVaughn, Fantasia, Melanie Fiona, Anthony Hamilton, Linda Herring, Luke James, Tamela Mann, R&B Divas and Tyrese. Celebrity presenters include Patrick Ewing, Dick Gregory, Steve Harvey, Derek Luke, David Mann, Eva Marcille, Roland Martin, Melvin Miller, Dr. Steve Perry, Jonathon Slocumb, Tika Sumpter.
Honorees include Debra Martin Chase, Chaka Khan, Alonzo and Tracy Mourning, Mayor Kasim Reed, Michael McMillan, Edward Welburn and Charlie Wilson.
The awards ceremony is the highlight of the foundation’s many events that salute and honor African-American achievement. The awards ceremony features celebrity presenters introducing the 2013 honorees and live performances from some of the most talented entertainers in the business.
